Supreme Court Hackathon Embraces AI for Efficiency

Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Friday unveiled the Supreme Court's second hackathon, spotlighting the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the court's efficiency. The initiative aims to streamline various aspects of the Registry, including defect removal and the organization of judicial records.

The announcement comes as part of the 75th anniversary of the Supreme Court's establishment and will be held in conjunction with the Centre’s 'MyGov' application. Submissions for the hackathon are open until August 31, with assessments occurring on September 14.

Justice Chandrachud emphasized the importance of innovative minds—regardless of age—in participating in the event. Often referred to as a 'codefest,' hackathons bring together programmers and tech enthusiasts to develop new software solutions.
