Russian Military Training in Iran for Ballistic Missiles

European intelligence sources report that Russian military personnel are being trained in Iran to operate the Fath-360 ballistic missile system. This move suggests imminent delivery of hundreds of these missiles to Russia for its conflict in Ukraine. Iran denies any immediate transfer despite military cooperation with Russia.

Dozens of Russian military personnel are undergoing training in Iran on the use of the Fath-360 close-range ballistic missile system, European intelligence sources have informed Reuters, indicating an imminent delivery of these missile systems to Russia to aid its war efforts in Ukraine.

The sources revealed that a contract was signed on Dec. 13 in Tehran between the Russian defense ministry and Iranian officials for the Fath-360 and another missile system named Ababil. Although Russian defense personnel have visited Iran for training, the official transfer of these missiles remains unconfirmed.

While Moscow's own ballistic missiles are intended for longer-range targets, the introduction of Fath-360s will bolster Russia's capability for closer-range strikes with the Iranian warheads, said military experts. This collaboration has drawn concerns from NATO allies, who promise swift consequences should the missile transfer materialize.
