In a significant milestone, US aerospace giant Boeing has partnered with India's AI Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) to offer crucial overhaul services for the Indian Navy's fleet of 12 P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft.

The collaboration has already borne fruit with the successful completion of the first landing gear overhaul at the naval base INS Rajali in Tamil Nadu, Boeing India announced on Tuesday. This development highlights India's expanding capabilities in complex Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services.

'This is a first in India and reflects the growth in India's indigenous capabilities for undertaking complex Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services,' Boeing India stated. Salil Gupte, the president of Boeing India and South Asia, emphasized the importance of the partnership in boosting the mission readiness of the Indian Navy.
