Google Unveils AI-Powered Pixel 9 Early to Compete with Apple

Google has launched its new Pixel 9 series with advanced AI features, ahead of its traditional schedule. The new offerings aim to compete with upcoming Apple devices and include features like screenshot search and a Gemini chatbot overlay. Sales are set to start later in August.

In a bid to outpace competition, Alphabet’s Google has unveiled its latest Pixel 9 smartphone series, integrating advanced AI features, weeks ahead of its usual schedule. This move comes as part of Google's strategy to compete with Apple, who plans to launch new iPhones in September.

Among the notable features are a unique screenshot search capability and the Gemini chatbot overlay, designed to answer questions and generate content. The new Pixel 9 starts at $799, $100 more than its predecessor, and will be available later this month, with preorders starting immediately.

Despite holding less than 1% of the global smartphone market, Google's Pixel line showcases technological advancements and fosters developer engagement with the Android ecosystem. The release also includes the new Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless earbuds.
