Rajesh Varrier Appointed Global Head of Operations and India Chairman at Cognizant

Rajesh Varrier has been appointed as the Global Head of Operations and India Chairman and Managing Director at Cognizant, following the resignation of Rajesh Nambiar, who will become Nasscom president. Varrier's extensive experience includes roles at Infosys and Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. His responsibilities will encompass workforce planning, regional leadership, and company growth initiatives.

On Wednesday, IT giant Cognizant announced the appointment of Rajesh Varrier as the new Global Head of Operations and India Chairman and Managing Director. This move follows the resignation of Rajesh Nambiar, who is set to assume the role of Nasscom president.

Varrier's new role will involve overseeing operations, ensuring delivery excellence, workforce planning, and steering the company's India leadership council. He is poised to play a crucial role in driving Cognizant's transformative initiatives and growth plans across India.

Varrier, who will be directly reporting to CEO Ravi Kumar S, will also focus on enhancing the company’s operational efficiency. Prior to this, Varrier has held significant leadership roles at Infosys and Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. He will officially take on his new responsibilities on October 1, 2024, and will be based in Bangalore, India.
