BHEL Completes First Upgraded Super Rapid Gun Mount Cannon for Indian Navy
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has completed its first upgraded 'Super Rapid Gun Mount' (SRGM) cannon for the Indian Navy. Flagged off for Balasore, Odisha, this cannon supports maritime border security. This is the first in an order of 38 upgraded cannons from the Indian Navy to BHEL.

The Defence and Aerospace Department of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has unveiled its first upgraded 'Super Rapid Gun Mount' (SRGM) cannon, an advanced weapon system for the Indian Navy.
The cannon was recently flagged off at an event by BHEL Haridwar Executive Director T.S. Murali, destined for Balasore in Odisha. This new SRGM boasts capabilities to neutralize targets in air, water, and on sea up to a range of 35 kilometers.
The order, for a total of 38 upgraded cannons, marks a significant milestone for BHEL, which has been supplying SRGM systems to the Indian Navy for over three decades. Executives from both BHEL and its Italian partner Leonardo attended the ceremony.
