SiliconAuto Launches Cutting-Edge R&D Centre in Bengaluru
SiliconAuto, supported by Foxconn, has inaugurated its R&D centre in Bengaluru. The facility will focus on semiconductor product design and system-on-chip development for the automotive sector. The joint venture between Stellantis NV and Foxconn aims to innovate next-gen solutions for electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and connected car technologies.

SiliconAuto, backed by Foxconn, has set up its research and development centre in Bengaluru. This facility will focus on semiconductor product design and system-on-chip development for the automotive sector.
The company is a joint venture between Stellantis NV and Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn). SiliconAuto's CEO, Gene Liu, highlighted that the new centre in Bangalore embodies the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the automotive industry. Liu noted that Bangalore, with its rich talent pool and thriving tech ecosystem, is an ideal location for this new venture.
Foxconn India representative V Lee remarked on social media that the R&D centre will accelerate SiliconAuto's innovative capabilities, particularly in electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving, and connected car technologies.
In addition, Foxconn is setting up an electric vehicle manufacturing plant and has plans to establish a battery manufacturing unit for EVs.
SiliconAuto reaffirmed its commitment to India, stating that the design centre will develop next-gen semiconductor solutions for the automotive industry. The company also plans to recruit top engineers and designers to strengthen its team and contribute to India's growing automotive ecosystem.
