Unicommerce, a notable player in the e-commerce SaaS domain, has announced its acquisition of Gurugram-based Shipway, a leading e-commerce technology firm. This acquisition will occur in phases, involving both equity and cash components, as detailed by company representatives on Monday.
In its initial step, Unicommerce will secure a 42.76 per cent equity in Shipway, amounting to Rs 68.4 crore. The company plans to acquire the remaining stake within the next year via a merger or stock swap, ultimately possessing the firm entirely through equity shares.
This strategic acquisition is designed to bolster Unicommerce's product offerings, incorporating solutions in courier aggregation, shipping automation, and AI-powered marketing strategies. The unified platform promises to streamline e-commerce operations for Unicommerce's extensive clientele, including renowned brands such as Durex and Lenskart.
