Tata Elxsi & Garuda Aerospace Propel India's Drone Ambitions

Tata Elxsi has teamed up with Garuda Aerospace to develop indigenous drone technologies in a new design, engineering, and certification centre. This initiative supports India's self-reliance in defence, agriculture, and smart cities, with prototypes showcased at Aero India 2025.

In a significant boost to India's drone technology landscape, Tata Elxsi, a leading design and technology service provider, has partnered with drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace to set up a cutting-edge design, engineering, and certification centre.

Signed during Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru, the collaboration aims to develop indigenous drone technologies tailored for defense applications, agriculture, and smart city initiatives, aligning with the 'Make in India' vision. Tata Elxsi will spearhead design, development, and certification, while Garuda Aerospace, leveraging its defense sector prowess, will handle business acquisition and delivery.

The partnership emphasizes AI-powered unmanned aerial vehicle advancements, strengthening India's defense ecosystem and creating employment opportunities in the aerospace sector. The initiative is expected to enhance UAV capabilities for the Indian defence forces and the Border Security Force, solidifying India's leadership in UAV technology.
