Airtel Expands Global Network with SEA-ME-WE 6 Cable Landing

Bharti Airtel has successfully completed the landing of the SEA-ME-WE 6 submarine cable system in Chennai, enhancing its global network. This development underscores Airtel's commitment to expanding international connectivity and accommodating the rising demand in Digital India through strategic investments in subsea cable systems.

Bharti Airtel announced on Monday the successful landing of the SEA-ME-WE 6 submarine cable system in Chennai, marking a significant step in its global aconnectivity expansion strategy.

The cable, which touched down in Mumbai in December 2024, is seamlessly integrated with Airtel's data center arm, Nxtra by Airtel. This integration is set to facilitate global businesses and hyperscalers in accessing international connectivity and data center services efficiently.

Sharat Sinha, Director and CEO of Airtel Business, highlighted that this monumental investment not only strengthens Airtel's network but also addresses the burgeoning demand for connectivity in Digital India. Airtel's extensive global network, spanning five continents and involving 34 cables, continues to grow with this new addition.
