Gopal Vittal Takes Helm as GSMA Chairman

Gopal Vittal, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, has assumed the role of Chairman of the GSMA board, as announced on Monday.
Vittal, who had been acting as the Chair, will now lead the industry body's strategic pursuits, succeeding Sunil Bharti Mittal as the second Indian to hold this prestigious role.
The GSMA, encompassing 1,000 telecom-related entities globally, acknowledged Airtel's influence with Vittal's appointment, as he embarks on steering the industry towards innovative advances and tackling challenges like AI and 5G implementation.
