A major internet outage affected several global platforms on Tuesday, rendering millions of users unable to access popular services like X, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Google Cloud. Gaming enthusiasts also faced difficulties as titles like League of Legends and Valorant were disrupted.

According to Cloudflare, a web infrastructure company that supports a significant portion of the internet, the outage stemmed from a critical network failure. The company's internal service degradation led to the widespread disruption. ''We are focused on restoring service,'' Cloudflare assured users, citing the issue as a ''global network problem.''

As reports of service disruptions flooded Downdetector, the tracking site registered over 10,000 complaints. Ironically, it too struggled to function due to its reliance on Cloudflare. As users shifted to other platforms like Reddit to vent, the incident underscored the risks of centralizing cybersecurity on a single provider.
