In a significant development, the Delhi Traffic Police announced on Tuesday that traffic challans will soon be payable through the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) on all BBPS-enabled UPI platforms.
The initiative is designed to offer a secure and seamless digital payment option for commuters, reducing the dependence on traditional physical payment methods. This will enable payments through major UPI applications.
The implementation follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the State Bank of India for technical integration with the BBPS platform. This advancement promises faster settlements, improved transparency, and enhanced operational efficiency once fully operational.
