GraphIN 2026, an international conference and expo focusing on graphene and two-dimensional (2D) materials, launched its inaugural session in India on Monday. It gathered scientists, technology innovators, and industry representatives worldwide to discuss progress in next-generation materials.
Nobel laureate Prof Kostya Novoselov, who inaugurated the conference, emphasized graphene's continued potential in various applications. He remarked on India's pivotal role in advancing graphene science and applications, as the nation positions itself as a global hub for electronics design and manufacturing.
Speakers, including Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary of MeitY, highlighted India's developments in the semiconductor sector with investments and support for numerous start-ups and MSMEs.
