The 'Smartphone Insights Report 2026' marks a departure from specification-centric upgrades, steering consumers towards experience-driven choices.
The report underscores AI's growing presence in everyday life, from voice assistance to content personalisation, shaping user interactions with their devices. This trend is increasingly prevalent in smartphones priced between Rs 15,000–20,000, where AI is now seen as an essential feature rather than an upgrade.
Affordability remains key, as evidenced by the 33% of users opting for EMI schemes. The report also highlights demographic usage patterns, with Gen Z utilizing AI for entertainment, while millennials focus on productivity. Design aesthetics remain important, with 64% of consumers favoring colorful devices.
