Andhra Pradesh Secures Major Aircraft Integration Hub for India's AMCA Programme
Andhra Pradesh has acquired a strategic Aircraft Integration and Flight Testing Complex for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft programme. Backed by state support and the Aeronautical Development Agency, the new facility aims to enhance India's aerospace manufacturing capabilities and support the nation's self-reliance goals under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Andhra Pradesh has clinched a deal to establish a pivotal Aircraft Integration and Flight Testing Complex for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft programme in Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai district. This significant milestone underscores the state's growing importance in aerospace and defense sectors.
The complex, spearheaded by the Aeronautical Development Agency under the DRDO, promises to propel India's indigenous combat aviation initiatives. It aligns with the strategic vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, receiving backing from the Ministry of Defence after detailed consultations between state and central governments.
Alongside facilitating aircraft development, the Andhra Pradesh government is committing 350 acres for the project's infrastructure, including a 10,000-foot runway extension and essential aviation facilities. The initiative seeks to attract investments and support for MSMEs, promoting a robust aerospace manufacturing ecosystem in the region.
