UPDATE 1-AWS says data center overheating in North Virginia disrupts services; Coinbase impacted

​Amazon's cloud unit, Amazon Web Services, ‌said on Thursday it was working to restore normal temperatures at a ‌data center in North Virginia ‌after overheating disrupted some services.

The incident caused a power loss that affected ⁠certain hardware, ​AWS ⁠said, adding that services reliant on ⁠the impacted data center could experience "impairments". Coinbase ​said its customers may be ⁠experiencing degraded performance due to the AWS ⁠outage. ​The cryptocurrency exchange assured customers that funds remain safe ⁠and that it is investigating the issue.
