Mission Mausam: Pioneering Weather Innovation at IITM Pune

An incubation centre dedicated to weather and climate startups was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) in Pune. Established by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the centre is a critical component of NEAT under 'Mission Mausam'. The goal is to drive technology innovation through public-private partnerships.
At the launch, M Ravichandran, the Ministry's secretary, emphasized the importance of collaboration among young entrepreneurs from diverse fields. This cooperative effort aims to yield solutions that will not only meet economic demands but also protect lives and livelihoods.
Ravichandran stressed the need for an inclusive, multi-stakeholder approach to tackle the complexities of modern weather patterns exacerbated by climate change. 'Mission Mausam' represents a foundational stride toward a weather-ready, climate-smart nation, integrating cutting-edge technology and data dissemination to safeguard communities.
