Angola soon to declare name of 4th telecom operator

Angola is soon going to announce the winner of international tender for the fourth telecommunication operator in the market.

“We are working on the new license after the international competition was launched. There are a set of steps that have to be followed and we are complying with them,” Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, Secretary of State for Technologies recently announced in the capital, Luanda.

Silva said that the announcement would be made soon although he didn’t reveal the exact date saying that it would be before the completion of 2019. He further emphasized that Angola Telecom’s restructuring process is underway and it would appear very soon in the market with new technological solutions and new services.

He also stated that the privatization of the company has not been ruled out. He further notified the entry of British telecommunications operator, Vodafone in the Angolan market via a partnership with Movicel. The country currently has telecommunication operators like Unitel, Movicel and Angola Telecom, as reported by Macauhub.
