Nokia establishes partnership eco-system to bring 5G services in Japan

Finnish telecom company Nokia announced Wednesday that it is building out a strategic partnership ecosystem to bring the next-generation of industrial-strength wireless connectivity based on LTE and 5G technologies in Japan.
5G, the next-generation cellular technology promises to offer large bandwidth, lower latency and 100 times higher speeds as compared to what the existing 4G LTE networks deliver. The Japanese government is gearing up to release the local 5G spectrum, designated for individual companies and local governments later this month.
Spectrum designated for local 5G will be released in Japan at the end of 2019 for enterprise use. Taking advantage of this new spectrum and together with its industry leading partners, Nokia will help accelerate IoT for industries in Japan by uniquely offering an end-to-end industrial grade private wireless portfolio.
To deliver industrial-grade private wireless solutions, Nokia Japan has collaborated with five industrial leaders including NS Solutions (for factory IoT), Marubeni Corp. (for global IoT), Internet Initiative Japan (for Full MVNO), Equinix Inc. (for multi-cloud and global data centers), and Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. (for smart social infrastructure and smart cities with video solutions), the company said in a press release.
Nokia's strategic partnership ecosystem will help enterprise customers utilize ultra-reliable and secure broadband wireless connectivity to accelerate their digital transformation and automation journey to Industry 4.0. The Finnish telecom company pioneers private wireless space with over 120 corporate customers around the world.
