FBIL fixed reference rate of rupee at 70.9 against US dollar

The Financial Benchmarks India private limited (FBIL) today fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 70.9255 against the US dollar and 82.8391 for the euro.

The corresponding rates were 70.7329 and 82.7184 as on yesterday. According to an FBIL statement, the exchange rates for the pound and the yen against the rupee were 92.3580 and 63.91 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
