Ireland is set to add the United States, Canada, Belgium, France and Italy to its list of countries where arrivals will be subject to mandatory hotel quarantine, local media reported on Friday.
Ministers said in recent days more European Union countries would be added to the list after health officials last week recommended the addition of a number of EU countries where large numbers of Irish nationals live, including Germany.
Germany was not among the 16 countries cabinet was set to sign off on at an unscheduled meeting on Friday, Virgin Media News and the Irish Independent newspaper reported. Israel is to be removed having been added just over a week ago, they said.
