Wildberries, one of Russia's largest online retailers, said on Wednesday it was entering Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia as part of its international expansion. The Moscow-based company now operates in 17 countries, branching out into seven new markets so far this year, including the United States, France, and Germany.
The retailer, which will offer about 10 million products from 50,000 brands in the Baltic countries, said the items will be delivered using logistics partners via pickup points or courier services. "Many of our compatriots and Russian-speaking citizens permanently live and work on the territory of these countries. It is likely that many of them miss the familiar Russian goods," Wildberries said.
The websites will operate in English and Russian languages, the company added. Privately-held Wildberries, which competes with Ozon and others, said its exports rose 95% last year to 23.7 billion roubles ($325.32 million).
