Wheat declines on higher supply, reduced offtake

Wheat prices softened by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market Tuesday due to reduced offtake by flour mills against ample stocks position.

However, barley strengthened on increased demand from consuming industries.

Traders said easing demand from flour mills against adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing belts, weighed on wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell by Rs 10 to Rs 2,025-2,030 per quintal.

Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired lower by Rs 15 to Rs 2,030-2,035 per 90 kg.

On the other hand, barely advanced by Rs 20 to Rs 1,650-1,660 per quintal.
