Takeover of Etihad Airways by Emirates sheer rumour, says spokeswoman

Persian Gulf airline Emirates denied on Thursday that it was seeking to take over Etihad Airways to create the world's largest airline, following a report from Bloomberg.

An Emirates spokeswoman told Reuters "there is no truth to this rumour".
