Pulses remain quiet in thin trade

Quiet conditions persisted at the wholesale pulses market Saturday with prices moving in a narrow range in the absence of worthwhile activity and settling at previous levels.

Traders said sporadic demand against ample stocks position mainly kept prices flat.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal): urad Rs 3,800-4,750, urad Chilka (local) Rs 4,700-4,800, urad best Rs 4,800-5,300, Dhoya Rs 5,250-5,450, Moong Rs 4,900-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,500-5,700, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,000-6,500 and best quality Rs 6,500-6,700.

Masoor small Rs 3,750-4,000, bold Rs 3,800-4,100, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,300-4,700, best quality Rs 4,400-4,800, Malka local Rs 4,550-4,850, best Rs 4,650-4,950, Moth Rs 3,800-4,200, Arhar Rs 3,650 and Dal Arhar Dara Rs 4,900-6,800.

Gram Rs 4,000-4,100, Gram dal (local) Rs 4,100-4,500, best quality Rs 4,500-4,600, Besan (35 kg),
