Wheat prices increases due to increased offtake by flour mills

Wheat prices inched up by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale grains market Monday due to increased offtake by flour mills amid a pause in arrivals from growing regions.

However, other grains moved in a narrow range on little doing and pegged at last levels.

Traders said increased offtake by flour mills amid restricted supplies from producing belts mainly attributed the marginal rise in wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) edged up by Rs 5 to Rs 2,020-2,025 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 2,025-2,030 per 90 kg.
