Tata Communications aims to expand cybersecurity business globally

Digital infrastructure provider Tata Communications Thursday inaugurated a cybersecurity response center as part of its initiative to offer global security service to companies equipped with local expertise.

The new center aims to offer global enterprises in their digital transformation journey, through a wide portfolio of managed services that address security concerns across network and infrastructure, content and data, application and access, a press release said. After jointly inaugurating the facility with a chief digital officer of Tata Communications Srinivasan CR, CEO of Data Security Council Rama Vedashree said, "Cyber threats and incidences have only escalated in terms of complexity, severity, and impact."

"A pro-active approach and strong mitigation capabilities become imperative as organizations and governments move ahead in their digital journey. We are glad to see organizations like Tata Communications making investments to build capabilities to address the global and domestic demand for security services," she said.

With a team of over 300 highly skilled security specialists, the portfolio of Tata Communications includes cloud-based offerings to match varying business demands.

"This new facility here helps us provide comprehensive security for our customers as well as allow prospective customers to experience the full range of our portfolio," Srinivasan said.

The comprehensive portfolio of cybersecurity services are built on multi-layered, integrated secure and trusted security framework, he said. The cybersecurity response center forms the heart of the execution capability for the framework. Tata Communications has set up similar centers in Dubai, Pune, and Singapore.

Later this year, the company would introduce a center in Europe to help customers comply with the European Union's general data protection regulation which would be followed by a facility in the United States in 2019, it said.
