Rural intensive care service provider CIPACA on Thursday announced that it has forayed into Uttar Pradesh by partnering with Ananta Hospital in Basti district to provide emergency and ICU services in the region.

CIPACA (Chennai Interventional Pulmonology and Critical Care Associates) would be offering the healthcare services in Uttar Pradesh making it to be the first state in northern parts of the country.

CIPACA currently has operations in south, west, east and now in north India.

The 50-bedded Ananta Hospital is founded by Ajay Kumar Chaudhary offering a wide range of healthcare services.

According to CIPACA, though there were small and medium hospitals in the Basti region, not every hospital was offering intensive care unit (ICU) services. Patients need to travel about 70 km from Basti or about 200 km from Lucknow to receive ICU facility, it said.

''Ananta Hospital seeks to provide affordable and quality ICU service to the rural people in Basti. It has partnered with CIPACA for setting up and managing ICU operations'', the statement said.

According to CIPACA managing director Raja Amarnath, the small and medium sized hospitals, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, face challenges to provide ICU services to their patients.

''ICU operations are team work, every staff member of ICU should have the right skills and latest knowledge on the management of critically ill patients. These things require the mobilisation of extraordinary efforts and knowledge. This is where we have built core competency..'' Amarnath said.

Ananta Hospital founder-managing director Ajay Kumar Chaudhary said, ''It has been our cherished dream to render quality ICU services to patients who do not have the means to go to corporate hospitals in big cities.'' ''We have been planning for ICU operations for sometime, but a dearth of trained and qualified medical professionals were posing challenges. This is where CIPACA makes a huge difference'', Chaudhary said.

''We have observed the work of CIPACA's ICU operations, their ability to provide trained staff and success in managing and running the operations. We are delighted to partner with CIPACA..'', he said.
