Portugal's infrastructure minister steps down as TAP airline scandal deepens

Portuguese Infrastructure Minister Joao Galamba stepped down on Monday as a scandal around state-owned airline TAP widened, just four months after he took over from his predecessor who also resigned because of the flag carrier.

"I present my resignation in favour of the necessary institutional tranquillity, values by which I have always guided my behavioir," Galamba said in statement, denying any wrongdoing.
