Britain's RMT union votes to accept new offer in rail dispute

Members of Britain's RMT trade union for rail workers accepted a pay offer following more than a year of strike action across the transport network, the union said on Thursday.

"Our members have spoken in huge numbers to accept this offer," RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said in statement. The agreement on a pay deal paves the way for the union and Rail Delivery Group (RDG), which represents Britain's train operators, to resolve the long-running dispute potentially ending future strike action by the RMT.

However, the RDG is still engaged in a separate dispute with the ASLEF train drivers' union who have scheduled a fresh round of strikes in December over pay and working conditions.
