A significant partnership agreement was signed at Vivatech by Fayçal Adlouni, Managing Partner of Orange Ventures, and Grégoire de Padirac, CEO of Digital Africa, aimed at strengthening and accelerating support for African startups via the Orange Digital Centers (ODC). Asma Ennaifer, Executive Director of CSR, Communications, and the Orange Digital Center program for Orange Africa and the Middle East, expressed enthusiasm for this initiative, which enhances the strategic partnership with Digital Africa established in June 2023 to facilitate financing and support for startups within the ODC network.

Key Highlights:

Strengthened Partnership and Funding Opportunities:

The partnership between Orange Ventures and Digital Africa underscores their commitment to investing in startups accelerated by the ODC network. Through the Fuzé scheme, funds committed by one party can be doubled through joint appraisal and financing of applications.

Comprehensive Support Ecosystem:

Orange Digital Centers, operating in 17 countries in Africa and the Middle East and 8 countries in Europe, offer a range of free programs from digital training to startup incubation and acceleration, providing support throughout the startup lifecycle. This ecosystem aims to stimulate entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.

Impact of the Fuzé Program:

In the first year, five startups from the ODC network received up to €50,000 each from Digital Africa's Fuzé program. The beneficiaries include three Cameroonian startups—Clinihome (Healthtech), Koree (Fintech), and Colorfol (cultural and creative industries)—and two Senegalese startups, Tolbi (Agritech) and Proboutik (Fintech). These funds will help expand their activities significantly.

Joint Support Scheme:

The new collaboration with Orange Ventures reflects a joint effort to accelerate the growth of startups by providing African entrepreneurs with a comprehensive support system and financing options.

Commitment to Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

Fayçal Adlouni, CEO of Orange Ventures, emphasized the Orange Group's commitment to nurturing future technology champions in Africa and the Middle East. This collaboration aims to create a supportive environment for the success of startups in these regions.

Asma Ennaifer highlighted the role of Orange Digital Centers as catalysts for innovation, providing the means for African startups to thrive in a rapidly expanding digital world.

Grégoire de Padirac expressed delight in the partnership with Orange, sharing a commitment to supporting African entrepreneurs from the earliest stages with comprehensive financing and support services.

The signing ceremony saw representatives from Orange, OMEA, and Digital Africa expressing their enthusiasm and commitment to the success of this new initiative, which promises to foster a thriving ecosystem for startups in Africa and the Middle East.
