India's GST Revenue Hits Record High in April
India amassed 1.73 trillion rupees in gross GST for April, marking a 10% increase from the previous year. Net GST after refunds rose by 6.9% to 1.44 trillion rupees, highlighting significant growth in tax revenues.
India collected 1.73 trillion rupees as gross goods and services tax (GST) in April, a rise of 10% from the same period last year, the government said in a statement on Saturday.
The government had collected 1.57 trillion rupees as GST in the same month last year. After refunds, the government's net GST mop-up in May rose 6.9% year-on-year to 1.44 trillion rupees, the statement said.
