Blazing Inferno: Taj Express Train Catches Fire in Delhi

Three coaches of the Jhansi-bound Taj Express train caught fire in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar. No injuries were reported as passengers evacuated the affected coaches in time. In a dramatic incident on Monday, three coaches of the Jhansi-bound Taj Express train caught fire in Sarita Vihar, southeast Delhi. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as passengers managed to vacate the affected coaches in time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The train, which had departed from New Delhi Railway Station at 3 pm, experienced the fire incident between Okhla and Tughlakabad railway station. Emergency services received the distress call at 4.24 pm, and eight fire tenders were promptly dispatched.

Huge flames and billowing black smoke marked the frantic efforts of the firefighters, who managed to contain the blaze by 5.43 pm. Police indicated further action is being taken by the railways to determine the exact cause and prevent future occurrences.
