Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven emirates in the UAE, is set to achieve over 20 percent growth in tourist arrivals from India by implementing targeted marketing campaigns and introducing new hotels, according to Raki Phillips, CEO of the Tourism Development Authority.
In 2023, the emirate saw a significant increase in Indian visitors, up 20 percent compared to 2022. This marks a strong recovery and growth from 2019 figures. For 2024, the emirate expects year-on-year growth exceeding 20 percent, driven by marketing campaigns and the introduction of hotels and attractions tailored to Indian travelers, Phillips highlighted in an email interview with PTI.
The CEO stated that Ras Al Khaimah welcomed the highest number of overnight arrivals, totaling 1.22 million visitors in 2023, surpassing the previous record of 1.13 million visitors in 2022. This growth reflects the emirate's strategic efforts to enhance its tourism offerings and promote its attractions globally.
