Fire Breakout on Secunderabad Train Coach: Swift Response Prevents Major Damage

A minor fire broke out in a stationary train's pantry car at Secunderabad Coach Maintenance washing line. The fire was quickly controlled by railway and fire department staff. There were no injuries or major property damage. South Central Railway's General Manager visited the site and reviewed the situation.

A minor fire erupted on a stationary train’s pantry car scheduled for maintenance on Thursday, as reported by South Central Railway (SCR). Thankfully, the coach was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The incident occurred around 10:30 am at the Secunderabad Coach Maintenance washing line. Railway maintenance staff noticed smoke emanating from the coach and immediately alerted authorities and fire officials according to an SCR release.

Railway staff quickly rushed to the scene to douse the flames using firefighting equipment. Concurrently, the burning coach was detached from the rest of the train as a security measure, SCR officials stated.

The situation was brought under control within an hour, by 11:30 am. Television visuals displayed thick smoke emanating from the affected coach.

A Secunderabad Fire Station official confirmed that the fire was reported in the spare coach, with no casualties or significant damage to property. “Access to extinguish the fire allowed for an immediate response,” the official noted. South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain visited the site to assess the situation and instructed divisional officials to implement preventive measures.
