India and Bangladesh Propel Relations with CEPA Talks and Green Vision

India and Bangladesh have initiated negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and outlined a futuristic vision to enhance bilateral ties. This includes agreements in the digital domain, maritime cooperation, and railway connectivity, further strengthening their longstanding relationship.

India and Bangladesh have charted a new course towards strengthening their bilateral relations with the launch of negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Following discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the two nations announced a futuristic vision to bolster their ties.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted Bangladesh as India's foremost development partner, emphasizing the strategic priority New Delhi attaches to this relationship. The countries inked a series of agreements to expand cooperation across areas including the digital realm, maritime sectors, and railway connectivity.

Significant progress was also made with the finalization of a shared vision for a 'green partnership' and agreements on maritime cooperation and the blue economy. Modi welcomed Bangladesh's decision to join the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative, reiterating India's commitment to an enduring and progressive partnership.
