Hyderabad, India – Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has inaugurated its new Global IT (GIT) Center at the Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad. The ceremony was attended by the Minister for IT, Industries, and Commerce of Telangana, D Sridhar Babu, and US Consul General Jennifer Larson, among other dignitaries.

This $60 million investment marks Medtronic's first large-scale IT center outside the United States. The new facility is expected to create 300 job opportunities over the next 3-5 years. The GIT will focus on cutting-edge technologies such as Cloud Engineering, Data Platforms, Digital Health applications, Hyper automation, and AI/ML, boosting productivity and driving growth in healthcare technology.

D Sridhar Babu, the state minister, expressed his delight at Medtronic's expansion in Hyderabad, emphasizing that the state's progressive policies have fostered a vibrant innovation ecosystem. Medtronic's Senior Vice President and CIO Rashmi Kumar echoed these sentiments, highlighting the company's commitment to leveraging India's rich talent pool to advance healthcare technology. Vice President Divya Joshi noted that the new center would be pivotal in supporting innovations and enhancing global IT capabilities.
