In a major industry development, Indegene has partnered with Microsoft to leverage generative AI for the medical sector, a move aimed at empowering global life sciences companies. This partnership seeks to scale up the adoption of enterprise-grade Generative AI (GenAI) services, driving rapid innovation and optimizing business processes.
Indegene, known for its digitally enabled commercialization services, views GenAI as a transformative opportunity for life sciences companies. 'GenAI presents a once-in-a-decade opportunity to modernize business processes and reimagine the effectiveness and efficiency of operations throughout the value chain,' said Tarun Mathur, CTO of Indegene. Nearly 50 real-world use cases are already in advanced pilot stages, showcasing the potential of GenAI in solving specific business problems.
Under the agreement, crucial resources in specialized medical and technology tools will be developed. A key initiative is the Content Super App, utilizing Azure OpenAI Service to streamline content creation and tagging. This app enhances content creation speed, personalizes content, and introduces new conversation formats, effectively engaging healthcare professionals, patients, and payers.
The generative AI capabilities are revolutionizing the medical content value chain, accelerating the creation of key documents like Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) and Protocols, ensuring compliance across clinical and regulatory domains. 'Generative AI is profoundly shaping every industry, including life sciences, offering unprecedented avenues for healthcare technology advancements,' said Alok Lall, COO of Microsoft India & South Asia, citing a study showing 79 per cent of healthcare organizations have embraced AI.
In data management and analytics for clinical trials, Indegene's solutions, powered by Microsoft Fabric, enhance data processes and reporting, ensuring governance and providing a competitive advantage. This agreement aligns proficient analytics with compliance adherence and agility in business operations.
