The Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) announced on Thursday that it added 2.20 lakh new flexible jobs in 2023-24, bringing the total to 16.6 lakh.
The 'Annual Employment Trends 2024' report, unveiled by Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran and Additional Secretary Ramesh Krishnamurthi, highlighted a 15.3% year-on-year growth in new jobs.
The ISF President, Lohit Bhatia, stated that 30,000 of these new positions were created in the last quarter alone. This growth was driven by e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and energy sectors, despite challenges in labor mobility and a shortage of skilled workers.
