Chhattisgarh Introduces Hi-Tech Interceptors to Boost Road Safety

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched 15 hi-tech interceptors to prevent road accidents, emphasizing road safety as a top priority. These vehicles are equipped with advanced technology such as radar guns, breathalysers, and surveillance cameras. The government aims to encourage compliance with traffic rules rather than collect fines.

In a significant step towards enhancing road safety, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off 15 hi-tech interceptors on Friday. Sai stated that preventing road accidents is among his government's top priorities, focusing on making people aware of traffic rules and regulations rather than merely collecting fines.

These state-of-the-art interceptors are equipped with a radar gun to detect speeding, breathalysers for verifying drunken driving, surveillance cameras for 360-degree monitoring, a light intensity measuring instrument for headlight beams, a glass transparency instrument, and a decibel meter for checking noise pollution, according to a government official.

These interceptors will be deployed in multiple districts including Raipur, Balodabazar, and Durg, and have been purchased from the Road Safety Fund on the recommendation of the State Level Road Safety Fund Management Committee, the official mentioned. Sai emphasized that road safety is a collective responsibility and these interceptors would significantly contribute to preventing road accidents.
