The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has rolled out a new initiative to improve passenger convenience by providing check-in facilities for international flights at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations on the Airport Express Line.

In collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India, and Vistara Airlines, DMRC aims to extend its 'Check-in & Baggage-Drop' service to international travelers, a facility that was previously limited to domestic passengers.

International passengers flying with Air India and Vistara Airlines can now check in their luggage at these metro stations, which will be securely transported to the aircraft using advanced automated systems. This new service simplifies travel, eliminating the need for passengers to carry their luggage through the airport. Check-in services for Air India passengers are available from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM at both metro stations, while Vistara Airlines passengers can avail the service at New Delhi metro station from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.

For international flights, check-in can be completed between four and three hours before departure, while domestic flight check-ins can be done between twelve and two hours prior to departure. At New Delhi Metro Station, airline check-in counters are located at the concourse level. At Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, these counters are adjacent to the VFS Global Office.

The initiative has already received positive feedback from passengers, who appreciate the convenience of checking in their luggage directly at metro stations. This effort is part of DMRC's commitment to finding innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of its passengers. Launched in the first week of June, the service aims to streamline travel procedures for international passengers flying out of Indira Gandhi International Airport.

DMRC is pleased with the positive response and remains dedicated to continually exploring new solutions to cater to its passengers' changing needs.
