The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is set to enhance its global footprint by opening three new overseas centers in Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea, President B Narasimhan announced on Friday.

The new centers will join the existing six in UAE, US, UK, Singapore, Australia, and Canada, based on the strength of ICSI members in these regions. This move aims to boost professional opportunities, facilitate student training, and conduct examinations overseas.

Narasimhan also stressed the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance, highlighting that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has mandated Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) for the top 1000 companies by market capitalization. ESG compliance will be crucial for attracting foreign investment, he noted.
