In a positive development for Andhra Pradesh, Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday thanked the Central government for its budgetary allocation to support pivotal projects in the state. Lokesh expressed his gratitude for the announcement of Rs 15,000 crore to complete the Amaravati capital and Polavaram Irrigation project.

Presenting the Budget for 2024-25, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the Central government’s dedication to the development of Andhra Pradesh. She confirmed that Rs 15,000 crore had been earmarked for the capital's growth and the irrigation project, vital for the state's farmers.

Sitharaman further reiterated the NDA government's commitment to the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, ensuring financial support for essential infrastructure and industrial development, particularly in backward regions such as Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and North coastal Andhra Pradesh.
