Former chief minister and opposition leader Jairam Thakur on Tuesday commended the union budget, calling it a milestone for achieving a developed India. He noted the budget's focus on empowering the poor, women, youth, and farmers.
In an official statement, the BJP leader welcomed the changes in the tax slab as a relief for the middle class. Thakur emphasized the budget's potential to empower youth, boost agricultural production, enhance storage and marketing infrastructure, and give farmers more control over sales.
He anticipated a boost in the manufacturing sector, leading to the creation of a crore jobs and internships for one crore youth in top industries, thus fostering skill development and employment.
Thakur also expressed gratitude for relief aid for rain-hit Himachal Pradesh and thanked top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for their support. He highlighted the abolition of custom duty on three cancer medicines, enhancing the ongoing fight against cancer.
