David Lammy, the UK Foreign Secretary, will visit India on Wednesday with a keen focus on resetting the bilateral partnership and advancing talks for a Free Trade Agreement, a priority for both nations.

As stated by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the trip will center around economic, domestic, and global security. Lammy is scheduled to meet with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, other ministers, and business leaders.

“This visit is crucial as resetting our relationship with the Global South is essential for the UK’s security and prosperity,” Lammy said. India, described as an emerging superpower, is seen as a vital partner for the UK, especially in the realms of green transition, new technologies, and economic and global security.
