The Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and AFRICA24, Africa's leading TV media group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the AfCFTA and promote African economic integration. The MoU was signed at the AfCFTA Secretariat's headquarters in Accra by H.E. Wamkele MENE, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, and Constant NEMALE, Founder of Groupe AFRICA24 and President of Afrimedia International.

This MoU outlines three key actions:

Promotion of Priority Projects: The AfCFTA Secretariat will promote actions related to critical projects in infrastructure, energy, industry, transport, logistics, new technologies, and other initiatives to accelerate Africa's development.

Highlighting African Enterprises: The MoU aims to elevate the profile of African commercial enterprises that contribute to the AfCFTA's objectives across the continent.

Awareness and Engagement: Efforts will be made to raise awareness among citizens, young entrepreneurs, and women about the benefits and opportunities of the AfCFTA, including the creation of a single continental market with free movement of goods, services, and people.

The partnership between the AfCFTA Secretariat and AFRICA24 is set to create a dynamic platform for promoting projects, companies, and institutions through innovative multimedia content. This includes:

Multi-Media Content Creation: Developing content to enhance the impact of intra-African trade.

Event Collaboration: Co-organizing AfCFTA events such as awards, summits, forums, and webinars.

Expert Contributions: Featuring AfCFTA experts in content production and aggregating media coverage from across the continent.

H.E. Wamkele MENE expressed his commitment to the partnership, stating: "This historic memorandum of understanding with Groupe AFRICA24 underscores the crucial role of media in the success of the continental free trade policy. AFRICA24's expertise and leadership will be instrumental in raising awareness about the AfCFTA's objectives and establishing a beneficial economic area for all African nations."

Constant NEMALE, Founder of AFRICA24, emphasized the significance of the agreement: "We are proud to partner with the AfCFTA Secretariat in this landmark agreement. Following the objectives set by the African Union in 2019 and in collaboration with our institutional partner, the Republic of Cameroon, AFRICA24 will invest in premium content to support Africa's development. This agreement will amplify the positive impacts of the AfCFTA on economic growth and integration, while also bringing together the continent's media through our role in the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB)."

The multi-year MoU is expected to be a valuable asset for both the AfCFTA Secretariat and AFRICA24, fostering innovative and inclusive collaboration to build a more integrated and prosperous Africa in alignment with the African Union's Agenda 2063.
