Magellan and Aequs to Launch Joint Aircraft Engine MRO Facility in Karnataka

Magellan Aerospace and Aequs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a joint aircraft engine MRO facility at the Aequs Special Economic Zone in Belagavi, Karnataka. The initiative aims to enhance India's maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities for both civil and military aircraft engines, leveraging infrastructure development and cost advantages.

Canadian aerospace major Magellan Aerospace has entered into an initial pact with Aequs to jointly develop an aircraft engine MRO facility at the Aequs Special Economic Zone in Belagavi, Karnataka, the company announced on Thursday.

The proposed engine MRO business aims to serve the Indian market by focusing on infrastructure development and cost advantages for both civil and military aircraft engines, Magellan Aerospace noted.

The announcement was made at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow in the UK, aligning with the NDA government's recent incentives in the Union Budget 2024-25 to boost maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities in the country.
