According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, 11 lakh passengers have been impacted by flight delays this year till May, leading airlines to expend nearly Rs 13 crore on passenger facilities.

In 2023, 22.51 lakh passengers faced delays, and airlines spent over Rs 26.53 crore. The previous year, 14.83 lakh passengers were affected, costing airlines more than Rs 15.87 crore.

The data, featuring in a press release by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, also stated that in 2021, 8.03 lakh passengers faced delays, incurring expenditures of Rs 3.91 crore by airlines.
