Railway Minister Discusses Una-Hoshiarpur Line Challenges

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw discussed the survey for a new railway line between Una and Hoshiarpur, citing low traffic projection as a reason for not proceeding. He responded to AAP MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal's questions regarding the expansion of the Hoshiarpur track and connecting it to Una and Tanda in Himachal Pradesh.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday discussed the survey results for a proposed railway line between Una and Hoshiarpur, noting that low traffic projections hampered its progress.

The Minister was replying to questions from AAP MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal in Lok Sabha about the government's plans to expand the Hoshiarpur railway track in Punjab and establish connections to Una and Tanda in Himachal Pradesh.

Vaishnaw clarified that railway projects are sanctioned and executed on a Zonal Railway basis and not restricted by State, District, or City boundaries. He explained that the evaluation of potential new railway lines is a continuous process influenced by various demands and operational requirements.
